NBFE (full) (1)(2)

Aside from being the country’s premier night food market destination, Mercato Centrale has helped give birth to some of the country’s newest and most innovative food concepts.  Popular chains like Manang’s Chicken, Merry Moo Ice Cream, Mochiko, Brasas Latin American Street Food, Spring by Ha-Yuan, Kristina’s Premium Inutak, Baked by Anita, and many more started off as food stalls in Mercato Centrale before they became successful food businesses.

But prior to their multi-million food ventures, many of these entrepreneurs started off as home-based food businesses or just passionate cooks and bakers who had a pioneering food concept, unique style of cooking, or a secret or heirloom recipe that they ‘incubated’ in the Mercato Centrale food market.

Building on its commitment to support food entrepreneurship, Mercato Centrale brings back its much-awaited “Next Big Food Entrepreneur Contest” along with, Mastercard, Globe My Business and partners Entrepreneur Magazine, Yummy Magazine, Yummy Ph, Philippine Star, and Go Negosyo.

Now on its third year, The Next Big Food Entrepreneur contest is a culinary showdown that provides an opportunity for budding food entrepreneurs from all walks of life to turn their food business concepts into reality! The winner of the contest will get PHP 100,000 start up capital, a rent-free stall in Mercato Centrale for six months, and a feature in Entrepreneur Magazine, Yummy, The Philippine Star,, Globe My Business Digital and Our Awesome Planet.

The Next Big Food Entrepreneur is open to all aspiring food entrepreneurs, ages 18 years old and above, residing in the Philippines.  The contest is divided into three parts: a food taste test activity for all interested participants, a four-weekend open market selling event at Mercato Centrale, Bonifacio Global City for all participants who pass the taste test, and finally, the submission of a business plan.  The cut-off for all interested participants for the food taste test is October 31, 2014.

From this point forward

24. The number strikes me like as if I need to end something I'm aware of, but I simply just cant accept.

Andaming ideas sa utak ko na wala na akong mapagsiksikan at lagi kong sinasabi na from this point forward, i'll just do it. I will take the risk!

Walang bago.

From this point forward, from this point forward, kahit sa kanan o sa kaliwa, mag eenjoy tayo at wala na akong pakialam sa nararamdaman mo, pero may paki ako sa kupal na mundo ng mga pampam na tao.

Social Media Day Turned Zoocial Media Day (Part 1: Paradizoo Farm Cavite)

June 28, 2014, while everybody is caught up in the hype of social media day, our group decided to change our route and spend a day without social media.

Made possible by Zoomanity, we were able to reached Mendez Cavite and experienced Paradizoo Farm.

Roaming Chicken Paradizoo
Paradizoo is 12 hectare home for various farm animals ranging from chicken, cow, goats, horses and even camels. It could be a best place to spend the weekend with your family as the place is full of interactive activities.

Tourguide Karen bloggers interacting with a small horse

Our tour guide for that day is ate Karen. In all fairness with her, she was able to answer all our inquiries kahit medyo out of the blue na yung mga questions namin.

Tanglad Tea
Bago kami mag-start ng tour, they made us taste their special made Tanglad Tea also known as Lemongrass Tea to beat the heat of the sun.

Paradizoo Tanglad TEa Paradizoo Tanglad TEa

We started our tour sa mga behind the fence animals, pero usually naman daw, these animals roam around the area.

Rabbit African Sheep Ostrich Fatbelly Pig

You can feed this animals by purchasing animal feeds, medyo mahal nga lang para sakin.

Karen also thought us how to milk goats. Medyo hindi ko lang kinaya kasi naawa ako sa goat, pero according to them, it’s good for the goat.

According to Ate Karen, this is how your hand gesture looks like when milking a goat

We also get to mwwt Voltes-5, the five legged cow

Inside Paradizoo, there are still lots of activities the farm can offer. On my next post, I will show you their Pet Cemetery, Butterfly Garden, Honey Bee Farm and my favorite Eclectic Garden.

Chocolate Hills Bohol Philippines

Cebu Music Blind Entertainers

Port of tagbilaran

Huwag kang pupunta ng bohol if your only plan is to get wasted partying all night at the many beachfront resto bars in Bohol. SUSMARIA!

I really don’t think those resto bars are capable of preventing the damage their customers are doing, kahit ilang signages pa ang ilagay niyo, may mga makukulit paring lulusot. I really don’t like the idea of beach front resto bars.

Bohol is just one of the Philippines beautiful islands where being one with nature is an endless possibility. Why not just spend your time watching fireflies in Loboc River, Dolphin watching and Swimming with Sea Turtles in Balicasag Island,

or go sun bathing at Virgin Island.

Sun Bathing?

Then by the end of the day, if you really want to get drunk, do it in your resorts own pool.

Its more worthy than getting wasted, then waking up in a pristine island beside your own waste.

Dauis Church Bohol Philippines

Do not go to bohol if you’re planning to see enormous catholic churches, because what is left are only fragments from the past. Almost all churches are ruined by the recent magnitude 7 earthquake.

Inside Dauis Church
Though they still stand because of some reinforcements from the people and the government efforts, there is still like a feeling that  someone is telling us, it’s time to write our new history.

Tarsier of Bohol Philippines
Do not go to bohol if you have plans of touching, taking selfie picture, playing or purchasing a Tarsier. Please lang leave them alone! Nocturnal animals ang mga Tarsier at kung ako ang nasa kalagayan nila, tapos you’ll take a picture of me habang mahimbing akong natutulog, aba giyera to!

I hope all tourists, settlers and business owners in Bohol knows their responsibility.   A responsibility to let the future generation experience real joy, nature gives us today.

New Rice Meals and Breakfast Sliders from Figaro

Figaro Rice Meals

Figaro recognizes Filipinos loved for rice and breakfast meals. Having this said, they’ve introduce to us their newest offering for the urban pips.

Let us first take a look with their Rice Meals. For 199Php you can choose from a variety of Filipino dishes that are twisted to fit the Figaro taste.

Pork Tenderloin in Asian Pesto Sauce. Pork Tenderloin In Pesto Sauce

Pork Tenderloin In Pesto Sauce

What I loved about this meal is the strong taste of pesto. I’m sure it will appeal to all pesto plus meat lovers. Gustong-gusto ko yung pagka-red ng meat niya and the smell of basil leaves dipped in olive oil. Pestong pesto lang talaga.

Breaded Fish With Plum Sauce

Breaded Fish With Plum Sauce

This one is a cream coated dory fish with plum sauce. I tell you, the plum sauce is divine! It tastes so good it matches even with Pork Tenderloin. (well I just tried experimenting with dips, LOL!)

Traditional Adobo
Traditional Adobo

What’s so special about this for me is the sweetness of their adobo. Since meron akong sweet tooth, this is the kind of adobo na gusto ko. I just don’t like it with the brewed coffee. Maybe I should try this with a different drink.

  Classic Asado
Classic Asado

Most Recommended! Surely a must try! One bite made me fall in love with this meal. It caramelized in my mouth like heaven. It is sweet, but not that kind of sweetness na nakakaumay. This is something na pag-bumalik ako ng figaro, oorderin ko ulit.

All rice meals are for 199php served with 8 oz. brewed coffee.

sliders (3 of 43)

Aside from their rice meals, Figaro also prepared something for on the go pips. Breakfast sliders  includes Egg Slider, Bacon and Egg Slider, Tapa Slider, and Zucchini Slider.

Zucchini Slider Bacon and Egg Slider Tapa Slider

My personal favorite is the Tapa Slider.  Who doesn’t like tapa anyway? It compliments with the slices of tomato, lettuce, cheese and whatever that special sauce inside. Its also good with the chips served (hindi ko na napicturan).
